Good for quick practice

Signed up for IXL Math for my son. Setup was easy. He uses it on his iPad. The questions are challenging but good. Got the annual plan and it was a fair price. It works for what we need.

My kids love IXL Math!

My kids absolutely love IXL Math! We just started our family membership, and they're already spending so much time on it. The skills are perfectly aligned with what they're learning in school, and they even like doing the IXL Skill Plans. It's so easy to use on their tablets too. I can see their progress with IXL Analytics and it's fantastic. We will definitely be shopping for the English Language Arts next. Highly recommend this to other parents!

Consistent value for my kids

I've been using IXL for a few years now for my kids' math practice. This last family membership purchase was, again, smooth and exactly what I expected. The Real-Time Diagnostic continues to be super helpful for targeting their weak spots, and the personalized action plans actually work. Compared to our first subscription, nothing much has changed in terms of service, which is a good thing; it's reliably good. My older one used the SAT Test Prep this time, and it definitely boosted her confidence. I'm happy with it and plan to keep renewing.

Hey guys, thinking of getting IXL for my kids. Does anyone know if there are any current deals or discount codes floating around?

L Lisa Torres 2 months ago
Nah, they barely ever do codes. Your best bet is that free trial, that's usually how everyone starts.

Yeah, I remember looking forever last year and couldn't find a promo code. Ended up just doing the family membership which is already a bit cheaper per kid than individual stuff.

Trying to decide between IXL and Khan Academy for my 7th grader. Any thoughts on which is better for consistent practice?

M Marcus Hughes 1 month ago
IXL is more structured for practice, like endless problems until they master a skill. Khan is good for explanations and videos, but the practice isn't as targeted IMO.

Both are decent, but for 'consistent practice' I'd lean IXL. It really drills the concepts. Khan Academy is awesome for learning *how* to do something, then you can go to IXL to practice it a ton.

Anyone switch from monthly to annual membership? Was it a pain to do or pretty straightforward in the account settings?

T Todd 2 months ago
Super easy. Just went into my account settings and changed it. It applied pretty quick.

Yeah, it's not complicated. Did it last year, you just choose the annual option and it updates your billing.

Is IXL actually good for high schoolers? My kid's in 9th grade and struggling a bit with algebra, wondering if this would help.

J James Z. 1 month ago
It covers K-12 so 9th grade should be fine. My nephew used it for pre-calc and it helped him understand some tricky concepts.

I think it's pretty solid. They have specific skill plans and test prep stuff for higher grades too, not just elementary. Worth checking out the trial to see if it clicks with your kid's learning style.

If I get a family membership, can I add my kid's cousin to it? Or is it strictly for immediate family in the same household?

D Derek Ito 2 months ago
It's usually for kids in your own household. I don't think you can share it outside that.

AFAIK, family membership means your kids. They track usage and stuff, so adding someone outside your immediate household might violate their terms.
